Announcing the NAIA 2009 STIMULUS PLAN: Project art
The National Association of Independent Artists (NAIA) invites all artists members and non-members alike to join us for The 9th Art Festival Directors / Artists Summit Conference, to will be held Thursday & Friday, September 24 - 25, 2009 in Peoria, Illinois, immediately prior to the Peoria Fine Art Fair. This unique event, produced by NAIA, is the only one of its kind that is geared directly to the needs and issues of arts festivals and artists, and provides an unparalleled opportunity to meet, network, problem solve and energize with show directors from around the country. Joint sessions for artists and show directors will be presented on Thursday morning.  Artist specific sessions continue on Thursday afternoon.   Sessions for show directors continue through Friday.  Early artist’s registration is now open for the unbelievably low price of $25.00 which includes lunch.

Topics of concern include an inspirational keynote address by Mike Corbin who is an art patron, collector, author and motivational speaker. http://www.artbookguy.com

Special guest Eve Lehrman from the U. S. Department of Commerce will present critical information about selling your art outside of the United States.

Show Director and artist Carla M. Fox will headline a session on developing an art fair in your community .

The final and most helpful session will include a mock jury with opportunities to view and comment on actual jury slides in the formats used by online jury systems.

Make your plans to be present for this very important industry event.  Online registration and additional information are available on the NAIA website at http://www.naia-artists.org/

You do not have to be a member of NAIA to attend the conference, but it will help NAIA and the art show community if you join.
