Salutations all!
I am new to the boards and very happy to recieved an issue of the Crafts Report from a fellow artist to have made my way here. I have already found a great deal of useful information - both in the magazine and on the boards. Thank you to all of you who take the time to share information and offer feeback to other artists here in the forum.
I have a new motto to live by this year: Don't be afraid to go out on a limb ... that's where the fruit is! So, with that in mind I am branching out this year and hitting the road to reach some larger and more lucrative shows. I am sure many of you can relate to the woes of traveling to a show, thinking you've done your research, only to find that the show was a bust. With past horrors in mind, I am attempting to avoid that as much as possible. What better way than to go direct to fellow artists to ask for feedback before committing myself? I am seeking feedback for the Gumtree Festival in Tupelo, MS. I would find feedback from other jewelry artist especially helpful, though I appreicate feedback from anyone with direct experience with the show. Can anyone help?
In addition, I would be most appreciative of any referrals to worthwhile shows for jewelry artist in the lower south east region. I am in the Florida Panhandle, about 1 hour from Alabama and I am looking for shows for the year ahead that don't require me to travel more than 5 to 6 hours one way. I need to keep my show fees below $500. Any tips will be appreciated. And yes, I am doing my own research as well, but I am hoping for feedback from people with direct experience with shows and for shows that might be profitable for me that I have not been able to find through my research.
Thanks in advance to any and all who respond.

I would like to help, but I haven't done any shows for the past 3 years due to my health. You would have thought that some one would have some infomation about shows in you area. I guess you will have to find out for yourself. Remember what it felt like when no one would share and share if you get a chance.
